Eligibility A. Applicant must be a graduate of a Big Island high school, OR a student at UH-Hilo, OR a student at Hawaii Community College with resident status. B. He/she must be an Art Major pursuing a Baccalaureate Degree at UHH or a student pursuing a Digital Media Certificate at HCC at the beginning of the academic year for which the scholarship is sought. C. He/she must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8 and be taking a full course load (12 credits or more). D. He/she must demonstrate financial need. Application Deadline All components of the complete application must be postmarked by April 1st. No exceptions will be made. Application Procedure We will only consider complete applications. This includes 1) the student’s completed application form and his/her personal statement, 2) college transcripts, and 3) two letters of recommendation. A. Complete the application form. B. Order college transcripts from all colleges that you have attended recently. Have them sent to your own address, and then submit them along with your completed application form. Transcripts will be sealed by the college records office. You must leave the seal intact. C. Ask the two people you listed as references to complete the attached recommendation forms and send or give them to you in a sealed envelope. (It is helpful if you provide them with a stamped, self-addressed envelope.) Ask them to sign the envelope across the seal to ensure that it is intact.
