ORDER TICKETS ONLINE

When you order tickets online, Volcano Art Center HOLDS them for you until the event (tickets are NOT mailed). Tickets for events at the Kilauea Military Camp Theater will be held at the theater box office, and are available for pick-up one hour prior to show time, on the same day as the show only. The theater opens one half hour before curtain, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets for events at other locations will be held at the event check-in table. Groups of 10 or more can buy tickets at our member discount if they are purchased as a block by one person (discounted rate will appear in shopping cart).

Please note that all ticket sales are final. Sorry, no refunds, credits, or exchanges. Let us know in advance if you have any special needs, such as wheelchair seating, so we can accommodate those needs. If you have any questions, please e-mail or phone us at (808) 967-8222. Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Hawai'i Time. Mahalo and we hope you enjoy the show!

Friday, August 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

This high-energy, audience-judged poetry competition is open to the public, both as audience members and participating poets. First time and returning poets with new material are welcome. Up to 15 poets can compete, with poets chosen by lottery that evening at 7 p.m. sharp. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 finalists. Five judges are chosen from volunteer audience members. Rules for poets: 1) bring 2 poems of your own construction (though not everyone gets to round two), 2) make sure each poem is no longer than 3 minutes performed (if you go over, points are deducted from your score), and 3) poems can be read or memorized, but no props please. Volcano Art Center's Niaulani Campus, 19-4074 Old Volcano Rd. in Volcano Village.
