PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED ABOUT THE RETREAT Join an intimate community of writers in a focused weekend of writing, sharing, and inspiration in quaint Volcano Village! The Writer's Retreat, Tom Peek's most highly acclaimed workshop, includes 2 1/2 days of artistic connection and creative exchange. Over the weekend, Peek guides a maximum of 14 creative writers--in all genres and at any level of experience--through writing exercises, discussion of the writing process, and convivial sharing of work. Designed to increase the depth and potency of your writing, the retreat includes stimulating sessions on: training your mind to see detail, pouring emotion onto the page, tapping your unique imagination, striding toward insight and compassion, overcoming barriers to writing, focusing your work, and making a commitment to writing. "One reason the retreat has remained popular over the years is its friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere that gives people opportunities to share the important stories of their lives," says Peek. "The retreat's cozy setting and friendly comradeship encourages people to write honestly without fear. People go home feeling empowered, ready to carry on with their projects and keep their pens moving." The retreat fee includes 6 delicious catered meals. The retreat is held at the comfortable, down-home Volcano Hale, one of Volcano Village’s oldest visitor accommodations.
