Eduardo has always had a passion for art. Arriving in Hawaii from New Mexico, he has lived in Puna for the past several years, "a place where Kilauea's beauty is on constant display." He credits his family as being his greatest influence. After studying art for two years, he began painting with acrylics while learning the art of mural painting. He was employed for 8 years by muralist Bonnie Neil, whom he credits as being his greatest mentor. This experience is where he acquired the knowledge of how paint moves, mixes and dries. Practice, layering and patience are all part of the equation for him to feel that a painting is finished. artist's statement: "I love to get lost in my art. Building a vision where I create balance. I like my art to be seen as much as possible. I strive to engage the viewer with a sense of awe and spacial distance that is present in the natural world." |
